About David
David Schumeister has been practicing real estate law with international clients for 30 years. He represents sophisticated national and international clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including leasing (commercial offices, retail and industrial), acquisitions, dispositions, and financing, as well as residential work.
David is an avid modern art collector and represents contemporary artists whose work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Walker Art Center, Tate Modern, Guggenheim, SFMoma. and the Pinault Collection.
Prior to joining the firm, he practiced commercial real estate in the New York offices of Shearman & Sterling and Clifford Chance.
David began his career at the U.S. Department of State, representing the United States Government in the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real property for Embassy needs including London, Rome, Kyiv, Taipei, Kathmandu, and Sydney.
